Charlotte N.C.— Despite the questions surrounding Noah Nininger's seeding, it is clear that he lacks the typical criteria that would earn him a higher placement. As a freshman, he does not have the State, Regional, or Holy Angels titles under his belt. Additionally, the high school wrestling season in Virginia started a month later than in North Carolina, putting Nininger at a disadvantage in terms of competition and recognition.

Scott Fike, the head wrestling coach at Staunton River, shared his surprise at the seeding. He believed that the impressive accomplishments listed under the "other participant information" section would have influenced the decision. Nininger's sixth-place finish at the Beast Of The East, his victories as a middle school Super 32 Champion, his Fargo All American status, UWW placement in Freestyle and Greco, and his current ranking of 23rd in the country by Mat Scouts all speak to his skill and potential.

Fike, however, did not express anger or frustration about the seeding. He simply felt that Nininger deserved a better placement based on his credentials. It is clear that the anticipated match between Nininger and Cam Stinson, a defending North Carolina high school state champion, should be the final. Unfortunately, due to the seeding, this highly anticipated match may occur in the semi-finals instead.

Despite the disappointment, Fike acknowledges that nothing can be done to change the seeding now. The outcome of the tournament will ultimately depend on how the chips fall. Fike hopes that this explanation will satisfy everyone's questions and concerns, even if it may not fully rectify the situation.
